SAA has trained pilots since 1963

1963 “Bromma flygskola” was founded in Stockholm, Sweden. During the years a lot of pilots have completed their pilot training at the flight school, for example military pilots has been trained to civilian air transport pilots, and pilots were trained for Scandinavian Airlines, SAS, and Linjeflyg. The flight school was the first school in Sweden to get the permission to train pilots in integrated Ab-initio programs. The name “Bromma Flygskola” was changed in 1999 to Scandinavian Aviation Academy, SAA. The headquarters moved to Stockholm-Västerås Airport in 2002. SAA has subsidiary flight schools in Arvidsjaur, Sweden and San Diego, CA, USA. The EASA part-145 maintenance company Scandianvian AirTech is also a part of the SAA group.

Today SAA is one of the most modern flight schools with very ambitious and experienced flight and ground instructors in combination with an aircraft fleet equipped with the latest technology, C172 G1000 and Diamond DA42. The SAA headquarters is situated in the heart of Sweden. The tower controlled airport with international traffic provides excellent flight training opportunities. Demanding Scandinavian weather guarantees IMC situations with several approach aids available (ILS, VOR, NDB, LLZ).

Gillespie Field, CA, San Diego

Scandinavian Aviation Academy provides flight training in San Diego, California. SAA Inc is fully owned by Scandinavian Aviation Academy and functions as a training satellite providing both FAA and JAA training. The tower controlled Gillespie Field has a very busy airspace with 250 000 movements/year which gives a great start in the aviation career. The airport has three Runways with LOC and GPS Approaches.
