More information about the Professional Pilot Program
JAA frozen ATPL To start work with an airline as a First Officer in Europe you need a JAA frozen ATPL, the certificates and ratings included in the Frozen ATPL are included in the Integrated Professional Pilot Program. The frozen ATPL implies: There are 2 different ways of carrying out the JAA training, Integrated program or Modular courses: The Integrated program is a full-time program which is conducted at one approved training provider, like SAA. An integrated program is more cost efficient and takes less time to finish compared to modular courses. As a student it’s also better to have one reference to one flight school when it’s time to look for the first job. There are many training providers that offer flight programs and you shall make sure that all certificates are included in the program. Scandinavian Aviation Academy is one of the few flight schools in Sweden that offers a JAA approved integrated program (Professional Pilot Program).
The flight training in modular courses is broken down into smaller parts. This enables the student to take one step at a moment, first a PPL (Private Pilot License) and then add on the other courses. The training can also be done at different training organisations. Many candidates therefore choose to stay in full time employment at the same time as they are studying.
