Pilot Open DayDuring a Pilot Open Day you will have the opportunity to learn more about how to become a commercial pilot, to talk to instructors, find out more about the training programs and fly our simulator and the new Cessna 172 fitted with high-tech avionics such as a glass cockpit. You are welcome to bring your partner, parent(s) or sponsor(s).

Further Pilot Open Day dates will be released in the near future. To make a booking please fill in the registration form. Registrations have to be done by all participants and you will receive a confirmation email shortly afterwards. A further confirmation regarding your seats(s) on the Pilot Open Day will be done by SAA by email approximately 3 days after registration.  

 

 

 

A typical schedule in Västerås

08:30 – 08:40 Arrival
All visitors report to the Reception to be checked in

08:40 – 10:20 Presentation
Presentation of SAA, the Professional Pilot Program, the training process and the aviation industry. An aviation psychologist from Interpersona will be present to perform initial aptitude testing and inform about the psychological requirements that commercial pilots are subject to. There will be opportunity to ask questions during the presentations.

10:20-10:30 Tour of the facilities
After the presentation, you will have an opportunity to tour the Head Quarter here in Västerås, Sweden.

10:30-13:30 Aptitude Testing
The first part of the required aptitude test (SWE flygpsykologiskt lämplighetstest) to the Professional Pilot Program
Feedback will be give during the afternoon, one at a time
Maximum 8 participants (2000 SEK)

11:00-16:30 Cessna 172 Intro Flight
Intro flight over Västerås and briefings in Cessna 172 with G1000 (350 SEK)

11:00-15:00 Simulator Intro Flight
Try out the FNPT II simulator (100 SEK)

 


Aptitude Test - part 1 of 2

The first step towards a career as a pilot is to successfully complete a psychological aptitude test. This is mandatory prior to enrolling in the Professional Pilot Program. The purpose of the test is to judge the possibilities of successful flight training and a subsequent career as a pilot.
Similar tests are often used by the airlines when hiring pilots. The test may therefore reflect the candidates future success with airline recruitment tests.

 

The test will be performed by Interpersona or Gordon Consulting during the Pilot Open Day. Your results from the aptitude test will be kept on file to be completed at Interpersona’s or Gordon Consulting's office in Stockholm, Sweden and you can at a later time complete the testing with Interpersona at their office in Stockholm. A full aptitude test could also be booked directly with a SAA approved testing facility.

 

Maximum 8 participants
Age limit: 18 years old and you have to have passed a 3 year upper-secondary school program

Price: 2200 SEK

 

Payment of application fee (1200 SEK) shall be performed at least 10 days prior to the Pilot Open Day to the below account. The application fee is non refundable. Please contact SAA for international Payment Instructions. Include your name on the payment receipt as a reference

Flights: By cash or Credit card in the reception
