Scandinavian Aviation Academy is a leading educator of professional pilots in Sweden. The school was founded in 1963 at Bromma Airport named “Bromma Flying School”. A lot has happened since 1963, which you can read more about under the tab “History”.
The flight school was the first school in Sweden to get the permission to train pilots in integrated Ab-initio programs. SAA has educations in San Diego, CA, USA and Västerås, Sweden. SAA has a well-functioning qualitysystem with the aim to continuously improve the training and flight safety. Our courses and programs are tailored to the student and airline needs, where we place high demands on both instructors and students. SAA has a good reputation among airlines in Sweden and Europe, where our students are working.
Today SAA is one of the most modern flight schools with very ambitious and experienced flight and ground instructors in combination with an aircraft fleet equipped with the latest technology.
SAA is 49% owned by the investment company, Volito AB, which has its headquarters in Malmö, Sweden. 51% owned by SAA Services. SAA in turn owns 10% of SAA Inc. in San Diego, USA, and 100% of the maintenance company Scandianvian AirTech.
Olof Bärve, Thomas Wallén och Michael Sjöö – SAA Services AB
They all have a background in SAS Flight Academy, SAS and and have a long experience from pilot training. Olof Bärve has been a board member of Scandinavian Aviation Academy for some years. Thomas Wallén has previously been CEO for Scandinavian Aviation Academy and Michael Sjöö is an airline Captain with long experience of quality and safety issues in aviation.

Scandinavian Aviation Academy provides flight training in San Diego, California. SAA Inc functions as a training satellite providing both FAA and EASA training. The tower controlled Gillespie Field has a very busy airspace with 250 000 movements/year which gives a great start in the aviation career.

Scandinavian AirTech is an EASA part 145 aircraft maintenance company. Scandinavian AirTech performs all maintenance on the SAA fleet. Scandinavian AirTech is one of Scandinavia‘s leading maintenance providers for general aviation aircraft and helicopters. The company is also a authorized service station for Cessna and Robinson helicopter.
